Position Summary: This role is part of our Children and Youth Services (CYS) Division which includes:
- Elev8 Full-Service Community School strategy (elementary and middle schools)
- Extended Learning opportunities (high-dosage tutoring K-8, comprehensive afterschool programming, and Elev8 Freedom School)

The Manager, K-8 Initiatives, is responsible for the development and implementation of Elev8 Baltimore’s elementary and middle school initiatives. This role includes:
- Overseeing after-school programs, tutoring, and extended learning opportunities while ensuring alignment with Elev8 Baltimore’s mission and strategic goal
- Directly supervising program coordinators and other Elev8 staff to ensure impactful services and serve as the lead for K-8 initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Design and Oversight
Program Design and Oversight
- Develop and implement programs to enhance student academic achievement, leadership development, and social-emotional growth for K-8 students.
- Supervise assigned coordinators and program staff to ensure effective service delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with school leadership to align initiatives with academic goals and student performance metrics.
- Oversee logistics for program implementation, including scheduling, space usage, and materials management.
- Ensure adherence to grant deliverables, compliance requirements, and organizational standards for quality assurance.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Provide coaching, training, and support to program staff to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and site visits to support staff development and program fidelity.
- Lead professional development sessions to enhance staff skills in delivering high-quality programming.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with school staff, students, families, and community stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to ensure alignment and consistency in program delivery.
- Serve as the primary liaison between program sites and the Elev8 leadership team.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Establish and monitor metrics to assess program impact and effectiveness.
- Collect and analyze data to inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Prepare and submit reports to funding partners, stakeholders, and the Senior Director of Children and Youth Services Programs as required.
Agency and Team Cohesion
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings to support Elev8 Baltimore’s overall mission.
- Maintain compliance with agency policies, including equity, race, and liberation principles.
Travel
- This position will require local travel to support various sites. Travel between sites may be needed, as well as to/from our main office in Remington.
- Possible out-of-state travel for attendance at conference(s
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Required
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in education, youth development, or nonprofit management, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to implement K-8 programming with measurable outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management platforms.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or a related field.
- Residency in Baltimore City.
- Commitment to serving marginalized communities and addressing systemic inequities.
- Experience with grant management and compliance.
- Demonstrated success in implementing community school strategies, extended learning opportunities, and/or youth development programming with measurable qualitative and/or quantitative outcomes.
Compensation:
Salary: $74,000 annually, with full benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement (with company contribution after meeting eligibility criteria), generous paid time off, and professional development support.
